Biography
Alexandra E. Cabonor graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Washington & Jefferson College in 2011 with degrees in English, Political Science and Theater. Alexandra received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law from which she graduated cum laude in May 2015 and was admitted to The Order of the Coif by grading into the top ten percent of the graduating class. Attorney Cabonor was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in October 2015. Since that time, Alexandra has focused her practice in the areas of custody and child support. Alexandra is especially good at helping young parents navigate the ins and outs of the often-complicated legal system by providing the appropriate mix of compassion and tenacity. Alexandra has also dedicated herself to defending the custody and visitation rights of grandparents in the courtroom. Alexandra also has extensive experience working with members of the military to ensure their custody rights are protected while serving our country.
Alexandra interned with the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law Family Law Clinic where she assisted pro se clients with family law issues including drafting motions, petitions, and complaints and presenting them to the Judges in Allegheny County Family Division. Alexandra also interned with the Pittsburgh City Council, Pennsylvania State Senate and the civil litigation firm of Beier, Beier & Beier in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during her first year of law school. During her second and third years of law school, Alexandra worked as a law clerk at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz, LLC where she gained extensive experience working at all levels of family law litigation. Alexandra became an associate attorney at McMorrow Law in November 2019. Prior to this, she had worked for nearly five years at another local family law firm.
Alexandra served as a board member of Pitt Legal Income Sharing Foundation and Pitt Law Women's Association and served as Senior Topics Editor for the Pitt Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law. During law school, Alexandra received three prestigious Cali awards recognizing her outstanding performance in the classroom and was recognized by Pitt Law faculty as a nominee for University of Pittsburgh School of Law Public Interest Scholar of the Year for 2015.
Alexandra is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Associate Family Law Section and is involved in local politics.
